David White has over twenty-five years of accounting and consulting experience, including over six years with Laventhol & Horwath, a national accounting and consulting firm. Prior to forming his own practice, Mr. White was a shareholder in a real-estate consulting firm focusing primarily on the lodging industry.
Mr. White has been involved in engagements for clients including Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association, Hyatt Hotels, Loews Hotels, Holiday Inn Worldwide, Best Western International, numerous law firms and financial institutions, and other accounting and consulting firms.
Mr. White received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and his Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of San Diego. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds the Certified Fraud Examiner designation awarded by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and the Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive designation awarded by Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP). He is a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC), a group of leading advisors to the hospitality industry. Additionally, he is the Immediate Past President of ACFE's San Diego Chapter, and currently serves as the chapter’s Training Director.
Mr. White created and co-publishes the Hospitality Industry Fraud Report, an industry resource intended to educate and provide a knowledge base of frauds occurring in the hospitality industry. He has published articles on various hospitality industry topics, including a column on the topic of fraud for HFTP's professional journal The Bottomline. Additionally, he served on the HFTP Task Force providing recommendations to the American Hotel & Lodging Association for changes included in the 10th Revised Edition of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry. Mr. White has been a frequent speaker at HFTP conferences; a guest speaker at local universities; and a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of San Diego. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
